Training Attendance Scoring

Athletes earn 10 points for each training session attended with the training squad.

Scoring Conditions

  • Athletes must win at least one bout to receive placing points.
  • Cadet or junior athletes may compete up in junior or senior events; only the points earned in the entered division count toward the scoring.
  • If an athlete competes in different weight categories across events, points are calculated separately and do not accumulate. Only the highest points from each event are counted.

Score Validity

Competition scores are updated on the last working day of each month, reflecting scores valid up to the working day prior. Scores expire 365 days after they are recorded. Example: a score updated on 1 Sep 2024 expires on 31 Aug 2025.

Other Rules — Tie-breaking

  1. IJF athlete ranking order;
  2. Comparison of competition levels entered and points earned by the athlete.

Other Rules — Selection for National & International Events

The HK, China Judo Team Selection Committee determines the nomination priority according to individual event rules and the ranking, with reference to the following:

  1. The athlete's ranking within their weight category;
  2. Potential results, e.g. awards or international ranking;
  3. Long-term benefit of the event to local judo and to the participating athletes;
  4. Discipline, attitude and public perception of the athlete in training and daily life;
  5. Resources available to the Association.

This ranking system takes effect from 1 September 2024. Athletes accepted into the training squad begin with their IJF ranking points as of 31 August 2024 as the starting score.
